How did you get so close? That’s a great shot!
This lek is on private land and the landowner has set up a trailer near where the grouse dance every spring, with windows for photography. Tony was able to get permission to go with a group one day. People have to be in the trailer before sunrise and stay until all the birds have left, which is several hours. These birds are quite susceptible to disturbance so the location is kept secret. – Bob Lefebvre
