I love Black-crowned Night Herons. When I first started birding in Arizona, my local patch had a regular roost of them, about three dozen. I’ve never seen anything like that since, though I do still see the occasional Black-crowned Night Heron fly by.
I saw my first Black-crowned Night Heron this year at the local provincial park. They are very neat birds.
